More than just a hotel - it's been a journey worth telling
Started with an old mountain lodge that'd seen better days. Most folks thought we were crazy buying that rundown place, but we saw something they didn't - potential wrapped in cedar beams and mountain views.
Two years of blood, sweat, and way too much coffee later, we welcomed our first guests. Just twelve rooms back then, but each one got the same attention we'd give our own home.
Guests kept asking where they could get a proper massage or unwind after hitting the slopes. So we built our spa facility - turned out people needed that tranquility as much as luxury.
Partnered with local farms and brought in Chef Marie. She transformed our kitchen into something special - real food from real people, none of that pretentious stuff.
BC Tourism named us Best Boutique Retreat. Honestly didn't see it coming - we were just doing what felt right. But it's nice when others notice.
Now we've got 34 suites, a full wellness center, and a team that feels like family. But the mission hasn't changed - give people a place where they can actually breathe.
Helena & Marcus Galvryonquinthal
We're not hospitality school graduates or business moguls. Just two people who fell in love with Whistler during a ski trip back in '02 and couldn't shake the feeling that we belonged here.
Helena grew up in Vancouver helping her parents run a bed & breakfast - she knows what makes guests feel at home. Marcus spent fifteen years in corporate finance before burning out completely. That burnout? Best thing that ever happened to us, honestly.
We wanted to create something different - a place where luxury doesn't mean stuffiness, where wellness isn't just a buzzword on the brochure. Somewhere you can show up stressed and leave feeling like yourself again.

How she looks today
Real hospitality isn't about fancy words or over-the-top gestures. It's about paying attention - remembering someone's coffee order, noticing when they need space, knowing when they need recommendations. We've built this place on those small moments that actually matter.
